HALTON HOLGATE, STEEPING, BENNIWORTH Elias son of Benedict and 'Sleina' his wife release Rannulf earl of Chester from all demands in respect of lands in Halton, Steeping and Keythorpe occasioned by any debt which Gilbert of Bermiworth owed them, reserving to themselves all their debt in respect of Bermiworth manor and of all Gilbert's other lands wherever they may be. The earl may retain five marks' rent in Bermiworth quit of debt for eight years beginning at Easter 1223; thereafter this sum will be under obligation for their debt like the other lands in that vill.
