Abstract: 277. Notification by Robert [Foliot], bishop of Hereford, and Simon, abbot of St Albans, judges-delegate of Pope Alexander III, of the settlement before them of the action brought by Reading Abbey against Bristol Abbey concerning the churches of Berkeley Hernesse. Bristol shall hold the churches in the name of Reading and shall pay Reading 20 marks annually, and the two abbeys shall co-operate in recovering from Gloucester Abbey what has been withheld from the same, and shall share equally between them the acquisitions they may secure. Abstract: 166. Notification by Osbert fitz Hugh that he has confirmed to the monks his father's gift of the church of St. Augustine of Dodderhill in Droitwich, so that only he and his next heir shall present a parson to that church and that the first parson so presented shall pay 0.5 mark of silver annually to the monks, while subsequent parsons shall pay 20s., and after the death of Osbert and his next heir the church shall be converted to the use of the monks, saving the possession of the parson previously instituted.
