This Indenture made the twentith daye of December, Anno Domini 1616 and in the yeares of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord James, || by the grace of God King of England, Fraunce and Ireland, Defendor of the faith etc. the fourteenth and of Scotland the fiflith, Retweene John Wachen- dorffe, || Harman Rickman and George Stampeel, Elders and Juratts of the Company of the Marchants of the Dutch Haunce resident in the Stilliard within the || Cittie of London, on the one partie, And Samuell Streaton and Roger Snelson, Churchwardens of the parish of Great Allhallowes in Thame- Street London, on the other partie, Witnesseth that whereas the said Elders and Juratts have here tofore hadd and enioyed the vse aswell of fower long seates or pewes scituate and being in the South He of the same parish church aforesaid belweene the cloisterdoore and the chauncell there, as also of certen other pewes scituate on both sides of the north ile of the same parish church betweene the bei fray and the topp of the chauncell there to and for their owne proper vses and behoofes. — And forasmuch as the said Elders and Juratts haue not of late tyme had any vse neither of the two hinder- most pewes of the said fower pewes, nor of the pewes betweene the belfray and the topp of the chauncell afore said, Ihey therefore at the instance and request of the said Churchwardens have bine contented to giue, leave and licence vnto the said Churchwardens and to their Successors, Church wardens of the same parish for the tyme being, to place therein such parishioners, as to them shalbe thought most meele. Now this Indenture further witnesseth, and the said Churchwardens for them, their successors and assignes doe covenant, promise and graunt to and with the said Elders and Juratts, their successors and assignes, and to and with every of them, by theis presentes, that if it shall happen at any tyme or tymes hereafter the said Company of Marchants to encrease and be more in number, whereby they may have occasion to vse the said pewes themselues, that then the said churchwardens, their successors and assignes, churchwardens of the same parish for the tyme being, shall and will within the space of six monthes next after monition or warning shalbe in that behalfe given to them or any of them by the said Elders and Juratts, their successors or assignes, remoue aswell out of the said two hindermost pewes as out of the said other pewes betweene the belfray and the topp of the chauncell aforesaid all such person and persons, as shalbe placed therein. And shall and will permitt and suffer the said Company of 192 1622, Januar 8. — 1636, Jannar 19.
Marchants and everv of them peaceably and quietly to enioye and repossesse Ihe same in such manner and forme, as formerly they haue done, without any lelt, hinderanee or interrupcion of any other of the parishioners for the tyme being. In vvitnes whereof to the one part of theis present Indentares vrilh the said Churchwardens remayning, the said Eiders and Juratts their common seale have caused to be put. And to the other part of theis present indentures with the said Eiders and Juratts remayning, the said Churchwardens have sett their hands and seales. Yeoven the day and yeare first aboue mitten.
