    This indenture, made the sixt and twentie daye of June in the yere of our lorde God a thow- sande fyve hundreth || threescore and eigbte, in the tenth yere of the reigne of our soveraigne Lady Eli zabeth, by the grace of God Quene of Englonde, |j Fraunce and Irelonde, defender of the fayth etc. Betwene Morrys Tymmerman, alderman of the societie of the marchauntes || of the Dutch Hance of Almayne, and the same societie of the saide marchauntes on the one partie, and John Grome of Lon don, porter, on the other partie: witnessethe, that the saide alderman and societie for dyvers good and reasonable causes and considerations, them speciallie movinge, demysed, have graunted, betaken and to ferme letten, and by these presents do demyse, graunt, betake and to ferme lett to the saide John Grome all that their tenemente with shoppes, cellers, sollers, chambers, lightes, watercurses, casernentes, commodities, profitts and appurtenaunces whatsoeuer to the same tenemente belonginge or in any wise apperteyninge, nowe beinge in the tenure or occupation of Henrye Barkeley, citizeine and cowper of London, sett, lyinge and beinge in Thamesstrele nighe vnto the greate gate of the Stilliarde there, that is to saye betwene a tenemente, belonginge to the saide alderman and societie, nowe in inoccupation of John Hall of London, porter, on the east parte, and a tenemente also belonginge to the same alderman and societie, nowe in the tenure of Rycharde Poly of London, marchaunte, on the west parte and the saide strete, called Thamesstrete on the northe parte, to haue and to holde the saide tenemente and all and singuler other the premisses with thappurtenaunces and everie parte and parcel! thereof, to the saide John Grome, his executors, administrators and assigneis frome the feaste of the natiuitie of Sainte John Baptiste last past before the date hereof, vnto thende and terme of three yeres then next ensuinge and fullie to be complete and ended, yeldinge and payinge therefore yerelie duringe the saide terme to the saide alderman and societie and their successors twentie sixe shillinges and eighte pence of lawfull money of Englonde at two termes or feastes in the yere, that is to saye, at the feastes of the byrthe of our Lorde God and the natiuitie of Sainte John Baptiste, by euen porcions. And yf it happen the saide yerelie rente of twentie sixe shillinges and eigbte pence to be behinde vnpaide in parte or in all by the space of fyftene dayes, over or after any terme or feaste of paymente thereof aforesaide, in which yt ought to be paide, that then yt shal be lawfull to and for the saide Alderman and societie and their successors and assigneis, into the saide tenemente and other the premisses with thappurtenaunces, by these presenles letten, or any parcell thereof to enter and distreyn and the dystres or dystresses then and there taken and founde lawfullie, to beare, leade, dryve and carye awaye and towarde them to deteyne and kepe vntyll they of the saide yereiye rente of twentie sixe shillinges and eighte pence, and tharrerages thereof, yf any be, be fullie contented and paide. And yf it fortune, the saide yerelie rente of twentie sixe shillinges and eighte pence to be behinde vnpaide, in parte or in all, over or after any terme or feaste of paymente thereof, in wise as afore saide it ought to be paide, by the space of thirtie dayes and lawfullie asked, that then or at any tyine after yt shal be lawfull to and for the saide alderman and societie, their successors or assignies and 184 1584, Mai 12. — 1585, October 6.

    eny or anye of them into the saide tenemente and all or singuler other the premisses with thappurte- naunces before by these presents demysed and leiten and everie parte and parcell Ihereof wholie to reenter and the same to have agayne, enioye and repossede, as in theire former estate and intereste; and the saide John Grome, his executors, administrators and assigneis and all other occupiers thereof from thence vtterlie to expell, putt oute and araove, this indenture, lease and graunte or any thioge herein conteyned to the contrarie thereof in any wise notwithstondinge. In witnes whereof to the one parte of these indenture, towardes the saide John Grome remayninge, the saide alderman and so- cietie have caused their comen seale to be putt, and to the other parte of these indentures, towardes the saide alderman and societie remayninge, the saide John Grome hathe sett his seale. Yeven the daye and yere firste aboue wrilten.
