1260-06-08, DALE, DERBYSHIRE (ENGLAND)
181 Notification by Hugo abbot of Dale and the canons. They have freed Ralph of Hallam from his debt to the Jews and Ral h ' p 0 them twelve marks. If he pays this sum to the canons by November, he will receive back his land in the park of Hallam with which he had enfeoffed the canons, saving theit annual farm, but Ralph will not be able to grant, alienate or pledge the land without the canons' assent. Omnibus Christi fidelibus ad quos presens scriptum pervenerit frater H dictus abbas de Parco Stanleye et ejusdem loci conventus salutem in domino Cum Radulphus de Halum nobis teneatur in xii marcis sterlingorum quibus ipsum deliberavimus a Judaysmo ideo universitati vestre notum facimus quod nos eidem Radulpho concessimus caritatis gracia ad sue peticionis instanciam quod si dictam peccuniam nobis solverit die sancti Martini in yheme sine ulteriori dilacione ex tunc terra arabilis de qua feofati sumus per ipsum in parco de Kyrkehalum ad ipsum et ad heredes suos plenarie revertetur sine nostra alicujus alterius contradiccione salva nobis per omnia firma nostra que de terra nobis annue debetur ita scilicet quod non liceat in posterum dicto Radulpho vel heredibus suis dictam terram dare alicui vendere alienare seu cuiquam Judeo aut Christiano sine nostro consensu invadiare In hujus rei testimonium presenti scripto sigillum nostrum apposuimus Teste capitulo nostro Actum apud la Dale vigilia sanctorum Petri et Pauli apostolorum anno domini m cc sexagesimo
