180 Promise by Nicholas son of Hugo of Warmaworth that he will not give, alienate or pledge the wood of Blakeker, which he holds by the charter of enfeoffment of Ralph of Hallam, without the assent and advice of the canons of Date. If he is obliged to sell the wood, the canons are to buy it at the price fixed by trustworthy men of the neighbourhood and county (23 May 126o). Omnibus Christi fidelibus ad quos presens scriptum pervenerit Nicholaus filius Hugonis de Wermundeswoth[] salutem in domino Noverit universitas vestra me tactis sacrosanctis jurando concessisse domino abbati et conventui de Parco Stanleye et fideliter et sine dolo promisisse quod boscum qui vocatur le Blakeker quem habeo per cartam feofamenti de Radulpho de Halum nec dabo nec alicui alienabo vel invadiabo de me et heredibus meis legitime procreatis sine consensu et assensu et concilio dominorum abbatis et conventus de loco supra dicto de Parco Stanleye Et si contingat quod dictum boscum processu temporis pro mea necessitate vendere voluero dictus abbas de Parco qui pro tempore fuerit sicut capitalis propinquior dominus erit quam aliquis alius et illum habebit ad estimacionem Hugonis Teuerey Walteri de Morleg[] magistri Ricardi de Morleg[] et aliorum virorum fidedignorum de comitatu Derb[] In hujus rei testimonium presenti scripto sigillum meum apposui pro me et heredibus meis Actum apud la Dale ad pentecosten anno domino m cc lx Hiis testibus etc
