Date: The presumption that this charter was of about the same date as the issue of the sentence (no. 21) is consistent with the witnesses, for 1222-30 are the extreme limits of the tenure of mag. Matthew [Scot] as archdeacon of Cleveland, mag. Walter de Taney became archdeacon of the E.R and mag. John le Romeyn subdean by 1228, and mag.
