Grant by Walter [de Gray], bishop of Worcester, that Reading Abbey may appropriate the church of Rowington, which is of its gift, after the death of the parson, master R[obert] of Hailes, and may, whenever it becomes vacant, enter possession of the church without mandate or assent of the bishop or his officials. Universis Christi fidelibus et cetera W[alterus] dei gratia Wigorn[iensis] episcopus salutem Noverit universitas vestra nos divine pietatis intuitu concessisse abbati et monachis Radyng[] ecclesiam de Rokynt[ona] que ad eorum spectat donationem post decessum magistri R[oberti] de Hayles eiusdem ecclesie persone in usus proprios convertendam Et ideo volumus ut quandocumque predictam ecclesiam vacare contigerit dicti abbas et monachi non expectato mandato nostro aut requisito assensu nostro vel officialium nostrorum possessionem prenominate ecclesie valeant ingredi sine omni contradictione Et in huius concessionis testimonium has litteras nostras patentes eis duximus faciendas Valete
