    XCVI.

DE OB1TU LAMBERTI, ABBATIS HÜJÜS LOCI.

Cujus regiminis anno primo, anno Verbi incarnati mcxxv10, paler Lambertus hoc verbum ore frequentans in extremis, in manus tuas commendo spiritam meam, obiit, et in capella sánete Marie, quam ipse infirmis edifieaverat, Johanne, episcopo Morinorum, exequialia ad ministrante officia, sepelitur. Cujus epitaphium legere cupientibus tale est:

Sic homo splendescit quasi flos, velud herba virescit; Sed subito moritur, cinerescit; nec reperitur Quod, Lamberte, eatis, pater, ostendis pietatis, ?е? cujus fossa brevis ínclita continet ossa! Sublimis sensu, doctrina, nomine, censu; Quem genus ornavit, facundia notifica vit, At cinis ecce jaces. Obi tum signale, sequaces, Dena kalendarum quem lux rapuit juliarum.

Ea tempestate mulier quedam de Lotharingie, vinclis ferréis brachia utraque habens, pro penitentia, constricta, in hoc cenobio, multis astantibus, precibus sancti patris Bertini solvitur.
