Kaiser Karl IV. bestätigt den Bürgern von Dortmund ihre Privilegien besonders auch ihre Freiheit von Zöllen und Abgaben, will nicht, dass sie einem Pfleger gegen ihren Willen gehorsam sein sollen, und verspricht sie nicht vom Reiche zu veräussern.

    • Stil und Einordnung: 
      Zentral aus dem Text eine Freifläche ausgespart. Diese erweckt zuerst den Anschein, als könnte sie für eine Wappenminiatur gedacht sein (siehe Wappenbriefe), da jedoch kein Hinweis auf die Verleihung eines Wappens zu finden ist, ist davon auszugehen, dass die Freifläche für ein im Original vorhandenes Monogramm gedacht war.
